The first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs is coming to a close soon, but there are still a number of series left to be decided. One still yet to be determined is between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, a series that could come to an end on Thursday. The C’s have the Bucks on the ropes, needing just one more win to advance to the second round. It’s worth noting that neither team has won on the road yet, however, setting up an intriguing showdown this evening. With the action shifting back to Milwaukee, oddsmakers are heavily favoring the home squad to force a Game 7.
The Celtics have taken their lead back in this series. They enter Tuesday’s Game 6 with a 3-2 lead and a chance to eliminate the Bucks in Milwaukee. However, they’ve yet to win a game on the road. They did get Marcus Smart back in Game 5 and he gives them an edge they were lacking. Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled in Game 5 and will be looking to bounce back and keep his team alive in a crucial elimination game.
The Bucks opened as a five-point favorite in Game 6, a testament to how well they have played at the Bradley Center this season and during the playoffs. The Celtics had a chance to steal a road win here in Game 4, but allowed a late tip-in from Giannis Antetokounmpo and came up short on a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer. They’ll try to close this one out as underdogs tonight, but have the luxury of a home game still waiting on Saturday if they fail to do so.
Can Boston find a way to win tonight, or will the Bucks stave of elimination and force a winner-take-all battle over the weekend?
